We’ve been invited to a wedding on Saturday 21st July… my due date is just 6 days after said-wedding. Whether we even make it to the 21st July without Baby Boy arriving is actually a bet in itself!
But this set aside, I thought I’d have a look at some Maternity ‘Occasion’ dresses anyway. I headed to all the usual Maternity stockists online and came to ASOS.com last, but by no means least. I was quite honestly shocked at the full range of smart to casual that they had on there! Wish I’d visited earlier in my pregnancy now!
Anyway, here are my favourites… These dresses all scream elegance, but also look really very comfortable. I’m sure you could also get away with most of them post-pregnancy too!
For my day job career I set up and manage all digital communities for a high-end British Fashion retailer. My life literally revolves around Facebook and Twitter (as well as Insta.gram, Pinterest, Foursquare, Youtube, Vimeo, hell, even Google+!). My friends will cite me as a “Social Media guru”, I’m modest… but I’d prefer to refer to myself as a “Social Assassin”.
Alas, I digress.
My best friends went away to Paris recently (and came back ENGAGED! YES!) but more importantly they also brought back this amazing baby grow for us! I had wondered how long it would be before the Social Media slogan/graphic tee’s and vest’s would be handed over… 😉
We haven’t yet decided whether we’ll be signing up Baby Boy bump to the Social sites… what are your thoughts? Yes or no?
We’ve pondered many-a-time over which Newborn Nappies to use. Which brand are best in quality, absorbency, fit and of course, which are lightest on the old purse strings?
As we live in a very rainy Britain and we currently do no have a tumble dryer (plus only electric heaters/radiators) going cloth isn’t really an option for us. We struggle to get our own clothes dry at the minute (definitely going to invest in a tumble dryer for Winter!!). So, we’re going disposable…. but what does that mean?! With so much choice out there, which are best for Newborns, based on my criteria above?
I asked my Twitter followers for their tried and tested recommendations… here is what the lovely people out there said.
So there we have it… the consensus is Pampers Vs Own-brand. Do you have a different opinion from experience? Or even just agree? Let me know your thoughts by commenting below or via Twitter @MaternalMusings and I’ll be sure to add your comment to the post above!
We bought our little babbit a pair of amazing Dungarees from Zara last week… and it got me thinking about Maternity Dunagrees. Was this not the staple to all pregnant ladies’ wardrobes, way back when? I jokingly said to OH I’d have to get a Vintage pair and team them with a lovely Laura Ashley blouse and huge headband…. But then thought of the absolute hassle a pair of dungarees really is. The frequency of which I frequent the loo these days is incredible. Imagine having to faff on with the buttons on a pair of dungarees every time?!
Or am I missing the point? Are dungarees really that comfy for a pregnant lady? I can’t help but think I’d also look like a small child with big pot belly if I got a pair, I am only 5 foot nothing, after all!
What do you think? Dungarees, yay or nay? I found it very interesting that high street favourites, Topshop, are attempting to bring the faithful dungarees back – just spied the above pair in their Maternity New Arrivals!
This week we received a wonderfully packaged parcel from the lovely people over at The Essential One. We’ve been looking in depth at what we need to include in our Hospital Bag (of which I should have had sorted this week, whoops!). One of the essentials that top’s the list to include is of course New Born sleepsuits/baby grows, so we were over the moon when this set of 3 arrived! I cried when I open the outer packaging, how nice is the little note that came with it?! I was touched!
I firstly just want to point out the detail that The Essential One go to with their packaging… everything is beautifully wrapped in their signature tissue and stamped firmly closed with logo stickers. The one other thing you cannot mistake when opening their parcels is the incredible ‘just washed baby’ scent! Absolutely amazing! Our living room filled with this intoxicating just-out-of-the-bath scent, which has made us even more inpatient for our little babbit to arrive! We can’t wait to recreate the smell for real.
So what was in the package then? A set of 3 incredibly soft and cute Baby Grows, that come in a self fabric drawstring bag! The extra bag is going to be so useful. I intend on using it with my changing bag, for additional clothing that we might need on a daily basis! Can’t get over how luxuriously soft the cotton is on these sleepsuits – absolutely perfect for our new born son’s skin. There’s also poppers down each leg for ease of nappy changing.
You can purchase every Essential you’ll need for your New Born (and upwards) from TheEssentialOne.com Once you’ve had a look, you’ll be hooked! Of course, all of the essentials will also make really nice gifts for expecting parents too!
Actually cannot wait to use these sleepsuits – they’re the first things we’ve got for our Hospital Bag (must must must sort this week!) so we’re really excited:D Not long now!
Couldn’t resist doing a couple of snaps of these! Daddy, Mummy and Baby Converse! TOO CUTE.
My sister surprised me this week at work by posting the Baby Converse direct to me… So of, course I had to get an obligatory shot of our little (Converse) family before Baby Boy arrives! We’ll have to get another shot afterwards, with us all wearing our respective Hi-Tops!
I actually cannot wait to get our Baby Boy in these… they are 3-6 months, so hopefully, if his Talipes has progressed, we’ll have him fixed before he’s 6 months old!
Cuddle your baby dry in this soft and absorbent robe with a cosy hood so baby’s head stays warm too. Made from our very high quality, pure cotton towelling, with a jersey sail boat appliqué. Belt is stitched securely at the back.
Kid’s Caban jacket, created in combed cotton twill with a classic gingham lining. With a zip down front and two pockets, this simple style is perfect for layering over a button-down shirt or classic pique shirt. Finished with our signature Laurel Wreath embroidery.
How cute is this Fred Perry Caban Jacket? I would absolutely LOVE to buy one now! If only it wouldn’t mean that Baby Boy had to wait until he was at least 2 years old to wear it! 🙁
